The history of the Torrevieja Half Marathon is linked practically from its beginnings to Torrevieja athletics club, the club based in Torrevieja was who created and organized for many years this important sporting event in the city of Torrevieja. The 1st edition of the Torrevieja Half Marathon was held on the 15th of April in 1984 and from the year 2023 Torrevieja’s athletics club is once again the organiser and thanks to the institutional support of Torrevieja City Council right the way to the Torrevieja Sports Department, the event is back again with a new edition for the year 2024. At the same time a 5KM race will be held, consolidating this sporting event as part of the history of sport in Torrevieja.
